You might think that Cinefantastique is an odd place to find political controversy. However, Editor Steve Biodrowski has an excellent piece on the recent attacks against Stephen King by the right wing media.
Apparently, the right wing chickenhawks over at Faux News have donned their clown makeup and gone after America’s favourite horror novelist for his “elitist” views.
As you will likely remember, Barak Obama was similarly accused of being an “elitist”.
As we move forward into the Presidential election I foresee that being cast as “elitist” will take on the same connotation as being “liberal”.

Remember the thriller from the early 1970’s? Well producers Ridley and Tony Scott and A&E have remade it as a two part movie that will air in a few weeks. I got an advance look at it and you can see my take on it over at Cinefantastique.
Tabloid favorite Lindsay Lohan was back in the news this week as a poster child for a new campaign aimed squarely at preventing the widespread use of ignition interlocks to prevent drinking and driving. She was featured in a full page ad in yesterday’s (Friday, May 2nd) issue of U.S.A. Today (tomorrow the world).
